By default, Spriter will layout images to fit the canvas, using the choosing packing method and sort options.

Alternatively, you can lock an image in place so that when an automatic layout is performed, the image remains in its previous position. When locked, you can also customise the location of the image.

Preventing an image from being moved

  1. Using the Image or Files views, either context click an image and choose Properties  from the menu, or double click an image
  2. From the Properties dialog, in the Location group, uncheck the Automatically position checkbox
  3. Optionally, set the X and Y values to be the new position of the image.
  4. Click OK to save your changes

Important

Currently it is not possible to lock or manually position dynamic images generated via the use of effects

Restoring automatic layout positioning for an image

  1. Using the Image or Files views, either context click an image and choose Properties  from the menu, or double click an image
  2. From the Properties dialog, in the Location group, check the Automatically position checkbox
  3. Click OK to save your changes

Important

The X and Y image property positions cannot be modified when automatic layout management is applied to the image.
