Important
Password and form data is stored in plain text within a WebCopy project file.
Important
If you use Forms, Passwords or Cookies to authenticate with a website, you should consider adding a custom rule to exclude any logout pages. Otherwise, if WebCopy detects this page, eventually it will access it and your session will be logged out, potentially affecting the remainder of the crawl.
Adding a new password via the Forms and Passwords Editor
- Select Forms and Passwords
from the Project menu and select the Passwords category - Enter the URL of the form to post in the URL field
- Enter the required user name and password
- Click the Add button to add the password to the list
