Although WebCopy will attempt to generate local filenames that match the remote URL, this isn't always possible. In addition, some websites use absolute URLs rather than relative ones. This means that HTML content downloaded by WebCopy may not link to local files correctly.

WebCopy can solve this by changing the downloaded HTML to remap any detected links to point to their local versions.

Important

WebCopy only changes attributes and content as described in the How does WebCopy scan pages? topic. URLs in JavaScript or undefined custom attributes will not be updated.

Automatically remapping local files

  1. From the Project Properties dialogue, select the Local Files category
  2. Check the Remap references within downloaded files option
  3. Enter the maximum level that WebCopy will scan
